Constructed from T800 Carbon and featuring an oversized, 35 millimeter clamping diameter, the PRO Tharsis EVO Handlebar combines rigidity for precise and confidence inspiring steering with enough compliance to reduce trail buzz and thereby also decrease fatigue. These characteristics together allow Enduro and other aggressive trail riders to push their mountain biking limits. Aesthetics and integration are also important features of the new PRO cockpit, which allows for full internal cable routing.
“The PRO Tharsis EVO Handlebar is more than an evolution of PRO’s mountain biking product design and development process,” Product Developer, Jelle Damen stated. “It is the culmination of years of research, development, and rider feedback. Material technology played a significant part in the process as the product team were able to create a handlebar which exceeds the expectations of the most demanding Enduro riders, in terms of stiffness and trail buzz mitigation, without sacrificing on weight or durability.”
“Rather than create a one-piece integrated cockpit we opted to design a handlebar and stem combination which work seamlessly together while still allowing for the bike fit adjustability of a two-piece system,” Damen added. “Confidence on the singletracks, especially on the most aggressive Enduro trails, can only be gained when you feel completely at home on your bike. The fact that you can choose between three stem lengths as well as roll the handlebars forward or back to dial in the reach and stack to perfection, utilizing the 8 degree backsweep and 4 degree upsweep, ensures greater versatility.
The PRO Tharsis EVO Handlebar and PRO Tharsis Stem will be launched alongside Shimano’s highly anticipated XTR M9200 drivetrain and brakes. “The new Shimano XTR groupset is Shimano’s most advanced mountain biking groupo yet,” Verbakel confirmed. “It was essential that the new PRO Tharsis EVO cockpit showcased the full capabilities of XTR and combined to create a desirable package which inspires riders not only to upgrade but also to love riding their bikes once they do.”
Riders will also be able to further customize the aesthetics of the PRO Tharsis EVO Handlebar through the choice between five decals. The unique colors provide the opportunity to synchronize with Shimano’s eye-catching orange or purple PD-GR400 flat pedals or live the brand with PRO blue. The grey- and sand-colored decals could appeal to riders who prefer a more subtle look. These five color options can be ordered as a separate decal sheet to further personalize one’s mountain bike build, inspiring confidence through complete customization.
